Hi there Fen Bank Supporters, Jan Lilley and Sue Rafferty reporting on Spilsby Show where we had a fab day, if a little tiring – we managed to raise £231 from the tombola, draw tickets and Xmas Cards.

We had loads of visitors to the stall, even some of our past hounds who now have loving homes – it was lovely to catch up with them. There were also several people who showed great interest in visiting FB to see our hounds – hoping to find their special Grey.

As it is our Open Day on Sunday next we suggested they visit if they could – and if not contact the Sanctuary and have a word with the staff who will do their utmost to advise them – let’s hope that some adoptions will be the result – paws and fingers crossed!

Jan and Sue would like to thank very much Mick and Jess for their support in putting up the gazebo and Pam and John Fraser for coming along to give us a break for a well earned drink and venison burger (delish!!) – we can always rely on Pam and John to help out whenever needed – greatly appreciated.  Jimmy, their Greyhound of some years, came along too, acting as non-working foreman making sure Pam and John did what they should and met and greeted folks who came to the stand – a great representative for Fen Bank as he is such a lovely lad.

Jan’s husband, Ian, also dropped by for an hour or so with our Delightful Daisy who, in between lying in the cool under the table, did her bit by accepting lots of strokes and cuddles and flirting with Jimmy who I think took quite a fancy to her and her to him.  All in all it was a very successful day, both in monetary terms and spreading the word about Greys – and in particular promoting Fen Bank Sanctuary and the great work they do.  Hope the Open Day is as successful.

Jan Lilley (affectionately known as ‘Posh’).
